11ª EDITION PROVES CYCLING IN HIGHWAY.

SERRANIA DE RONDA. ANDALUSIA. SPAIN

1) ANTECEDENTS

The Sport Club "The Suffering" of Ronda (Málaga, Andalusia) organizes this classic cyclist's 11 ª Edition.

This sport Test appears in calendar cyclist of the ICU (Union international cyclist) and in the calendar  of the Real Spanish Federation of Cycling for the year 2009.

2) OBJECTIVE

To give to know Ronda's Serranía like relating of tourist and sport destination.

3)  DATES

Exit: The 09:00 hours of Saturday May 30 2.009 from the Avenue of Andalusia of the little town of ARRIATE. (5 kms from RONDA).

Finish line: The 18:30 hours of Saturday May 30 in ARRIATE again.

4) PROGRAMMED ACTIVITIES

SATURDAY 30 MAY

•           11ª Route of 196 Km.

•           11ª Route of 109 Km.

•           Documentation collection.( of 07:00 hours at 08:30 on-line hours of Exit)

•           Eat farewell.

•           Delivery of Trophies.

FRIDAY 29 MAY

•           To sleep free in the sport Stadium of ARRIATE ( you´ll need sleeping bag).

6) DOCUMENTATION:

Each cyclist will receive: - two personal race numbers.

                                       - race number for the bicycle.

                                       - Electronic device.(Time)

                                       - Route Book.

                                       - Map.

7) ITINERARIES AND MODALITIES

They are marches cyclists of free speed and the traffic of cars is ALWAYS opened.

 The exit of the cyclists will be made in a single group at the 09:00 hours.

1)CYCLISTS of 196 Km.:

The route goes through : Arriate, Ronda, Montecorto, Algodonales, Zahara of Sierra, Grazalema, Montejaque, Benaoján, Cortés of the Frontier, Algatocín, Genalguacil, Benadalid, Atajate, Ronda and the bikers´ll arrive again to Arriate.

2) CYCLISTS of 109 Km.:

The short route goes through: Arriate, Ronda, Montecorto, Algodonales, Zahara of Sierra, Grazalema,  Ronda and  Arriate.

The half dear speed is of 20 - 22 kms / h.

8) TROPHIES AND MEMORIES

In total they will surrender 53 Trophies, he/she doesn't surrender MONEY

A bag of memories for all with T-shirt, ceramic Medal, Diploma, etc

9) INSURANCE

The Organization will insure all the cyclists.

10) SANITARY SERVICE

•           Two DOCTORS and two FEMALE/MALE NURSES.

•           Two vehicles ambulances.

11) EXIT AND GOAL

The Exit and the Goal are located in the Town of ARRIATE.

In Arriate,  we´ll provide:

- Race  numbers.

- Mechanical Attendance.

- Delivery of Memories and Gifts.

- Eat final sportsmen.

- First Aid Post and physiotherapists.

- Wardrobe and lost objects.

- Mechanical Attendance.

- You can take a hot water shower.

12) LOGISTICS

CYCLISTS of 196 km:

a -) TWO (2) points of liquid provisioning in Zahara of Sierra and in the Highest Port of the Route.( Puerto de las Palomas 1183 mts).

b -) SIX (6) points of provisioning liquid-solid in the towns of  Algodonales, Grazalema, Montejaque, Cortés of the Frontier, Genalguacil and Atajate.

CYCLISTS of 109 km:

to -) TWO (2) liquid provisioning points in Zahara of  Sierra and in the Highest Port of  the route.

b -) TWO (2) liquid-solid provisioning points in Algodonales and Grazalema.

In these provisioning points there will be: isotonic drink, water, homemade candies, fruits and dry fruits.

In goal there is a meal free for all the participants.

13) INSCRIPTIONS AND LODGING

Cyclist must be older than 17 years.

If he/she wants to participate it should send an email to the organization:  legion101@ronda .net   We help in the inscription process.

The organization can reserve rooms in Ronda or free in the sport Stadium of the Town of  Arriate (Start-Finish Line).
